Ramkrishna Mission Swami Vivekananda’s Ancestral House and Cultural Centre has organised a seminar on French art and literature

Riddhiman Ray, Agami Kalarab: A seminar was celebrated by the French Language Department of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda’s Ancestral house. The subject was to analyse the history of French art and literature from eleventh century onwards. A light discussion was held about the famous French writer Victor Hugo and his contemporary Bengali Literature. A lot of unknown informations have reported about the French painters like Van gogh, Gauguin etc.

Beside of the seminar an exhibition was held by the entrepreneurs. It has focused on the memories of Swami Vivekananda- Rabindranath- Romain Rolland including other French Artists and Writers at different periods. The exhibition on the French women artists also created a special attraction.
Swami Muktasanganandaji Maharaj, the Assistant Secretary of RKM Vivekananda’s Ancestral house and Mr. Abhijit Ghosh, the Principal were present in the programme.

Muktasanganandaji Maharaj said in his speech, “I am feeling glad for inviting me at this programme. As per Swami Vivekananda, The culture of France is greatest over Europe. The language- literature and their life style is much advanced.” He also added to speak about Rabindranath and Romain Rolland, “India and France built a spiritual relationship between them. It is not possible to resort any particular language in a many languages spoken country like India. As because we accept any kind of foreign language. Every language is teachable, but an important and rich language is very essential for teaching. French Language is very relevant for next generation.”

On the other hand, Mr. Abhijit Ghosh said, “I have enjoyed the programme overall. Every student of us showed their best. If we can arrange this kinds of seminar or exhibition occasionally beside of our traditional study, then we may like the subject heartily. A lot of thanks to our French teacher to organize such a programme.”
