Kitchen Corner: Custard Apple Basundi

Gennia Soor: Custard Apple Basundi is a delicious twist on classic basundi where fresh custard apple pulp is added to it. It is perfect to have for vrat days. Here is how to make Custard Apple Basundi.


1 litre Full Fat Milk

½ Cup Sugar

1 tsp Cardamom Powder

1 Cup Sitaphal Pulp

2 tbsp nuts, chopped


Boil the milk in a heavy bottom pot.

Put on simmer and keep stirring constantly.

Making sure that it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan.

After it has reduced and thickened, add sugar, cardamom powder.

Simmer for more 5-10mins. Take off the flame and add sitaphal pulp. Mix well.

Serve chilled. Garnish with nuts and serve.
